Richard Barry Edmonds

49 year old Richard Barry Edmonds of Alexandria died Tuesday at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital. He was a machine operator for S&W Manufacturing. Edmonds graduated from DeKalb County High School and attended Cumberland University. He was an active member of the band in high school and college. The funeral will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Chapel of Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria. Dusty Desimone will officiate and burial will be in the Jennings Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday prior to the service. He is survived by his parents, William and Jean Ferrell Edmonds of Alexandria. A sister, Mary Edmonds Polat and her husband Savas. A niece, Reyna Polat along with aunts, uncles, and cousins. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations in his name be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital, or the Disabled American Veterans. Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria is in charge of the arrangements.
