Mary Elizabeth Bailey

Mary Elizabeth Bailey, age 86, was born in Liberty, Tn. Oct. 9,1937 and departed this life November 21, 2023 at her daughter’s residence in

Smithville. She was a member of Faith Congregational Methodist Church in Dowelltown. Mary worked as a seamstress at Work Wear in

Alexandria for many years. Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Lula Mae Bass Stone, her husband, Jerry Bailey, son Tony

Bailey, and siblings, Anna Laura Young, Janice Davis, Billy Stone and Ernest Stone. She is survived by her daughter, Melinda Tallent of

Smithville. Grandchildren, Sabra (Jeremy) Murphy of Smithville, Chris (Brandi) Cantrell of Crossville, and Leslie Bailey(Jay Ellis) of

Alexandria. Great-grandchildren Braya Murphy(Haden Cripps) of Cookeville, Briahna Murphy of Smithville, Caleb Cantrell and Dylan

Cantrell of Crossville, and Kayleigh Goodman of Alexandria. She is survived by two siblings, Bobbie (Charles) Fite of Lebanon and Joe

Stone of Smithville. Daughter-in-law, Connie Bailey of Alexandria, and special friend, Jimmy Carter.
